PT. MRT Plans to Develop Five Integrated Areas

PT. MRT Jakarta plans to develop five areas that will be integrated with Jakarta Urban Regeneration using transit oriented development (TOD) concept, starts from Lebak Bulus MRT Station, Fatmawati, Blok M, Istora Senayan until Dukuh Atas.

Probably we will establish a subsidiary to execute the construction of area development

PT. MRT Jakarta President Director, William Sabandar stated, there are four main points in developing this area. First, is making the area comfortable for cyclists, pedestrians, and people with disabilities. Second, is creating green open area.

Then, third is making a functional multi-story building construction system that consist of malls and residences. Fourth, is making public housing with affordable price.

"Probably we will establish a subsidiary to execute the construction of area development. Especially in constructing residences and building that have mixed functions," he explained, Friday (11/1).

Subsidiary that is planned to be established next year is expected to build joint venture with developer. While for area management, he claimed that his side is still processing its permit to the Jakarta Government.

"For now, I can't convey its investment value. But we will strengthen its design. According to plan, its value will be informed three months after permit issued by Jakarta Provincial Government. We also plan to arrange Kota Tua by making plaza and integrated area, but our main focus is on the first five," he stated.
